Samburu, June 2012 – Part 1

Samburu National Reserve is a place you quickly fall in love with and for me started my addiction to the African safari.

The mountainous scenery forms a magnificent back drop to watch the wildlife in the reserve, including Sumburu’s special five.  The Ewaso Ng’iro River is the southern boundary of the park and attracts huge herds of elephants, in this otherwise semi-arid area.  From the moment of touching down at the airstrip I was blown away with the variety of the birdlife. more…
